More About Orange Calcite
Calcite is derived from the German Calcit, a term coined in the 19th century from the Latin word for lime, calx (genitive calcis) with the suffix -ite used to name minerals. It is thus etymologically related to chalk. Over 800 forms of calcite have been identified.
Orange Calcite is known as the sunshine stone, representing the element of fire. It is also a healing crystal, and has the energy to protect and repair.
