What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Contact forms
When you complete the contact form, the information (including Name and email address will be forwarded to our staff) this is necessary so that we can reply to you if required.
Blog
Our website also operates a blog, and you are invited to subscribe and receive new blog posts as and when they are added to the site. You email is not made available to any staff at Something Wiccan and can not be used for any other purpose than to automatically send you these notifications. This list is separate from the user accounts, and vice versa, signing up for a user/shopping account will not subscribe you to the blog. You can unsubscribe from the blog at any time by using the link in the email.

Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

With the advent of GA4, Google started collecting demographics and interests reporting (based on advertising identifiers) to help them better target adverts, to delete your activity information use the My Activity link.
Who we share your data with
We may may, from time to time run advertising campaigns on Facebook, these will allow us to track user interaction via a Facebook Pixel, which will give both ourselves and Facebook information on which users came to our site after having seen one of our posts, this feature can be switched off in your Facebook settings (Your Off Facebook Activity)
Cookies
in the event that you accept the use of cookies, we may track your movements around our site. we will not share your information with any other company.
CCTV
we have a CCTV system in our store for the purposes of crime prevention, the images from this may be shared with the Police or other crime prevention bodies for crime fighting purposes.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
information pertaining to orders that have been placed on this site may be retained by us for a period of up to six years to allow us to comply with tax legislation in the UK.
in the event that you do not place an order with us, your account will be purged 90 days after it was last accessed.
We do not collect or hold payment information from our users, as payments are processed off-site by Natwest, you can read Natwest’s privacy policy here.
CCTV footage recorde in our store will be held by our camera system for no more than twelve months, though if the images or footage are requested by a law enforcement agency they may be retained for as long as necessary.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Payments
All payments must be made before we dispatch items.
As of 4th October 2021 payments through this site are processed by Tyl for NatWest and Something Wiccan ltd. do not see, capture or retain any of your card details during the transaction, only receiving notification of when the payment has been made. See Tyl’s privacy notice here. Our relationship with Tyl means that we continue to be PCI DSS compliant. Read here about PCI DSS compliance and how this protects you. So you can feel safe in the knowledge that details are kept secure by the bank.
Prior to 4th October 2021, the website redirected customers to Barclaycard ePDQ to capture and process the payment. Again no card data was captured or returned to Something Wiccan ltd. after authorisation.
Reviews
Since February 2023, Trust pilot have collected and managed reviews on our behalf, and they will send you an email five days after it has been dispatched, which should be enough time for you to receive your order, unless there have been unforeseen circumstances such as industrial action see our delivery policy. you can see TrustPilot’s privacy policy here. Up until February 2023 our review management partner Yotpo, who auto-generated an email asking you to leave a review regarding your purchase, we expect that you should have received your order in this time, you can see Yotpo’s privacy policy here.

to protect your data we use SSL protection providing 256-bit encryption on the front end, please ensure that you are connected to the HTTPS site and can see the padlock in the address bar before you enter personal information.
What third parties we receive data from
We may receive anonymised analytical information from a third party provider to help us learn about users movements around the website, which we can use to restructure pages in accordance to how people use the site and help us make it more user-friendly.
What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data
Apart from aforementioned analytics describing how users navigate the site, we may also receive notification about shopping baskets that have not been checked out and other incomplete transactions due to which we may contact which may result in us contacting you with a reminder.
