Description
Crocoite specimen from the Red Lead Mine, Dundas, Tasmania. Due to toxicity, this specimen comes in a box. The specimen you see is what you get. On exposure to UV light some of the translucency and brilliancy is lost, so don’t use a UV light on it and don’t keep it in sunlit areas.
Crocoite is a red mineral consisting of lead chromate and contains both lead and hexavalent chromium, meaning that it is toxic.
