Description
Ametrine, also known by its trade name bolivianite, is a naturally occurring variety of quartz. It is a mixture of amethyst and citrine with zones of purple and yellow or orange. Almost all natural ametrine is mined in Bolivia, however like citrine there is a large amount of amethyst that is heat treated on the market, as all citrine and ametrine used to be amethyst.
