Shopping Online Safely

This year’s last order deadline for online sales is rapidly approaching! If you are shopping for a Christmas gift, please have your order in by 5pm on Saturday 16th December 2023. We do have a next working day delivery option at the checkout, so if you miss this deadline and want it in time for Christmas, make sure that you have your order in by 12pm, Wednesday 20th December and tick the next working day delivery option at the checkout.

This is the time of year when we’re all shopping for gifts online, so how do we know that we’re buying something legitimate when shopping online? And how do we check that we are not being scammed?

There are a few things you can do:

• Check for the padlock in the URL. If the padlock is not locked, then don’t shop as it isn’t secure.
• Check the website’s URL. Does it belong to the company you are buying from?  We do not sell through other platforms, so if the URL isn’t www.somethingwiccan.co.uk or www.somethingwiccan.com then it isn’t our website and would advise against making any purchases.
• Check the image of the product being sold. Is it exactly the same as other businesses’ pictures online? This could possibly be a drop shipped product, where the product isn’t being held by the business you are buying it from. You can always contact the business and ask them if you are in doubt. We have some supplier photos but don’t dropship any products at the moment, as we prefer to see the product; especially with crystals as we like to verify their authenticity. If it’s on our website, then it is in our shop.
